About us
City Creek Counseling, LLC was founded to better serve our community’s mental health needs, and is designed to help individuals and families increase quality of life and promote mental well-being. We provide quality psychotherapy services by licensed professional counselors who focus on helping individuals and families identify treatment options to meet their needs. We strive to work together with our clients to support them as they move through their journey.
Katie Mulalley, LCPC, NCC
- Katie is a Pocatello native and is passionate about finding ways to better serve her community.
- Her career to provide mental health services to families and individuals from the Pocatello area began after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boise State University in 2008.
- Upon completion of her Master's decree in Family Marriage and Counseling at Idaho State University in 2012, she started providing psychotherapy services to families, couples, individuals, adolescents and children.
- Her primary theoretical approach is Adlerian Family Therapy, but she also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
- She has extensive experience in working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, couple and family relationships, parenting, behavioral issues, sexual behaviors and pornography.
- Katie is an Associate Level treatment provider for Juvenile Sexual Offenders and is Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) a trauma based therapy.
- When not working Katie enjoys spending time with her family, camping, boating, skiing, and all outdoor activities.
Melissa Scott LCPC
- Melissa was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho.
- She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Idaho State University. Melissa began working in the mental health field and soon found that she would like to pursue continued education in the mental health field to more fully assist those she was working with. She then completed her Master’s in Counseling at Idaho State University with an emphasis in Mental Health in 2010.
- Melissa enjoys working with a wide range of ages and mental health concerns. Her primary theoretical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but also utilizes Play Therapy, Solution Focused approaches, Choice Theory approaches, and strengths based therapy.
- Melissa has worked for many years in the Children’s Mental Health and Adult Mental Health state systems. Her experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in a vast range of clinical disorders, including, but not limited to Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD/Trauma, Emotional Regulation, Anger Management, Relationship Challenges, Bipolar Disorder, Self-Esteem, Behavioral Issues, and Schizophrenia/Psychotic Disorders.
- When not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy spending time in outdoor activities, camping, hiking, swimming, canoeing, and traveling.
Rishay Ackley, LPC
- Rishay has been working with children, adolescents and families since 2004. She graduated Idaho State University with her Bachelors in Health Education with a minor in Psychology in 2002. Knowing she wanted to become a counselor she went on to obtain her Masters in Counseling also at Idaho State University.
- Rishay works from the theory of Existentialism and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She will utilize Play Therapy when working with children. She has spent ten years working with children and adolescents in schools. She has also worked for 5 years in community agencies working with children, adolescents, and adults. She enjoys working with groups which she has run in the schools and community agencies.
- There is a vast array of challenges she has worked with people on and they include but are not limited to anxiety, self-esteem, stress, depression, anger, self-regulation of emotions, sexual abuse, social skills, coping skills, relationship challenges, family difficulties, family changes, career exploration, grief, loss of family due to incarceration, mindfulness, and ADHD. Rishay utilizes a person's strengths in therapy.
- Although she was born in Pocatello, Idaho Rishay has enjoyed an adventurous time living in Florida and Texas over the last 15 years. Recently her family moved back to Idaho to be close to family.
- When she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her family. She is married and has three children. They like to go to football games, camping, skiing, and swimming. A couple of her favorite things to do are running and working with family photos.

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Patrons of City Creek Counseling please do not come in if you are in anyway sick. This includes all of our favorite allergy symptoms as well. We understand that this can be an inconvenience but please help us keep each other safe through this time.
If you have been around anyone who has been sick or has any COVD like symptoms please do not come in.
We are offering fully telephonic or telehealth options to accommodate. Our attempt in addressing this is to ensure that we can stay open to see our clients in person.
